School of Medical Imaging

Important Requirement for Medical Imaging Students

A complete COVID series plus booster dose as well as an influenza vaccination is required prior to acceptance into a medical imaging program.

School of Medical Imaging Programs

The School of Medical Imaging has partnered with Rhode Island College (RIC) for a bachelor of science degree in medical imaging. The college offers a comprehensive didactic and clinical education for four primary pathways with additional secondary pathways for eligible, registered technologists.

Throughout the academic program, experienced clinicians and neighboring community professionals work with students in both the classroom and clinical setting using the latest technology and incorporating best practices for a full education in this essential area of healthcare.

Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Medical Imaging is to work collaboratively with technologists and other healthcare professionals to prepare students with entry-level employment skills to meet the needs of the community. The school provides diverse clinical settings to enrich student learning and expand networking opportunities within its communities of interest.

Articulation Agreement

The School of Medical Imaging has a formal articulation agreement with Rhode Island College. Students accepted into a primary pathway program are Rhode Island College students.

Primary Pathway

To be considered for entry into one of the clinical education programs, qualified Rhode Island College students who have completed their pre-clinical required courses can apply to one of the primary pathways offered by the School of Medical Imaging where, upon acceptance, they will enter the clinical program for an additional 20 months to complete their bachelor of science degree and become eligible to apply for certification.
