Rhode Island and Its Hasbro Children's Hospital
Rhode Island Hospital is the state’s largest hospital, and only Level I Trauma Center. It is the principal teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School.

The Miriam Hospital
The Miriam Hospital has achieved Magnet Recognition for excellence in nursing since 1998, and it remains one of only a handful of hospitals nationwide to maintain this elite designation for six consecutive cycles.

Founded in 1931, Bradley Hospital was the nation’s first psychiatric hospital exclusively for children. Today, it provides expert, family-focused care to children and adolescents.

Newport Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility offering a wide array of services, and home to the renowned Vanderbilt Rehabilitation and Noreen Stonor Drexel Birthing centers.
How We Support Our Nurses
Nurses at Brown University Health thrive in an environment that promotes interprofessional collaboration, a spirit of scientific inquiry, autonomy, and the opportunity for professional development.
We ensure successful transition to practice through our Vizient Nurse Residency Program for newly licensed nurses. We also provide competency-based orientation, preceptorship, mentorship, simulation, in person classes, online modules, and a wide array of practice-based learning opportunities.
At Brown University Health, we support professional learning, role competence, and growth. We offer an education assistance program with a reimbursement of up to $3,500 annually, and a student loan debt repayment program for full-time, benefit-eligible employees. Brown University Health nurses have access to unlimited free continuing education modules available virtually. Additionally, Brown University Health offers a clinical advancement program as a way for our nurses to grow professionally and be recognized for their accomplishments.
