Nursing Assistant Training Program

Workforce Development offers a free 14-week nursing assistant training program, managed exclusively by Brown University Health’s Nursing Assistant School. The program is designed to provide training to individuals who are interested in a career as a  nursing assistant (CNA) at Brown University Health. Participants will complete a clinical rotation at a Brown University Health location. The program includes classroom learning, work-readiness training (clinical), and a hands-on learning experience (internship). Students learn and demonstrate essential skills in labs and lectures to prepare them to successfully pass the state exams required for licensing.

Students will learn: 

  • Foundations of care
  • Human body and development
  • Safety and infection control
  • Vital signs and hygiene
  • Nutrition and positioning
  • Medical terminology
  • Ethics

Recruitment is now open for our Spring 2026 Nursing Assistant training program! To learn more about the program and how to apply, all interested applicants must attend a mandatory information session via Zoom.

  • Wednesday, March 18, from 12 to 1 p.m.
  • Monday, March 23,  from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 25, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
  • Monday, March 30, from noon to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 1, from 1 to 2 p.m.
