Autopsy Pathology
The Division of Autopsy Pathology at Brown University Health offers comprehensive and limited postmortem examinations for deceased patients with appropriate consent.
Our team of board-certified pathologists provides expert diagnostic evaluations of pathological findings that contributed to the patient’s death. We are dedicated to conducting thorough examinations and delivering detailed reports that benefit family members, primary physicians, and research studies, with the potential to impact future generations.
We also prioritize education by training residents, fellows, and medical students from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Our commitment includes respecting the religious beliefs and concerns of the deceased and their surviving family members. Residents and attending autopsy patThologists are always available to address specific concerns related to the autopsy process.
At Brown University Health, we are devoted to advancing medical knowledge, supporting grieving families, and upholding the highest standards of respect and care.
