Endocrine Pathology
The Division of Endocrine Pathology provides high-quality diagnostic services for disorders of endocrine glands, including the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, in adult and pediatric patients. Staffed by five board-certified pathologists with expertise in endocrine pathology, the division offers diagnostic assessment for both national and international consultations.
The division offers:
- Accurate diagnosis of biopsy and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) specimens, with superior turnaround times, including guaranteed 24-hour turnaround for STAT cases.
- Autofaxing of reports and notification of clinicians regarding urgent findings, such as malignancy.
- Verbal consultation available for each case.
- Consultation services for second-opinion cases provided by nationally and internationally renowned expert endocrine pathologists.
- State-of-the-art automated immunohistochemistry laboratory offering a wide array of diagnostic and prognostic markers.
- Molecular testing, including an actionable mutation panel by next-generation sequencing.
- Robust quality control and quality assurance programs.

The staff specializes in diagnosing and studying tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, as well as conditions affecting the diffuse neuroendocrine system, including related neuroendocrine neoplasms of the digestive tract and pulmonary system. They also have expertise in the immunohistology of endocrine and neuroendocrine neoplasms, employing advanced techniques to support accurate diagnoses and tailored patient care.
