Cytopathology
The Division of Cytopathology is committed to providing high-quality diagnostic services in all major areas of adult and pediatric cytopathology. The division is staffed by four board-certified cytopathologists with extensive experience in fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), non-gynecologic cytology, and gynecologic cytology (Pap smears). The division provides consultation services with rapid turnaround times and autofaxing of reports.
The division offers:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology-certified, experienced cytotechnologists.
- Liquid-based preparation and interpretation for all specimens.
- A Hologic Imager for automated pre-screening of Pap smears.
- Primary and co-testing for HPV in Pap smears.
- Correlative immunocytochemical, flow cytometric, and molecular studies.
- On-site assessment and immediate diagnoses of fine-needle aspiration biopsies, including endobronchial ultrasound, endoscopic ultrasound, and robotic endobronchial ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration.
